Sonia Pelletreau, Integration Research Associate
Sonia Pelletreau is the coordinator for all activities being implemented in Mali under ITI’s project entitled: “Increasing the Sustainability and Scalability of Neglected Disease Control Programs Through Country and Global Level Integration.” ITI’s ground breaking work in Mali is made possible by funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

Prior to joining ITI, Ms. Pelletreau spent four years at the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) managing public health projects for the development of ophthalmic services in 32 countries throughout Africa, the Middle East, and the Caribbean.  She worked closely with WHO ophthalmologists, governmental officials in numerous ministries, international and local NGOs, USAID, and pharmaceutical companies to develop, implement and promote LCIF’s health programs.  She was directly responsible for planning and monitoring trachoma and onchocerciasis programs. Ms. Pelletreau has also worked as a policy researcher, strategic planner, and instructor at the Polytechnic of Namibia in Windhoek, Namibia and as a teacher at the Orden Bunka Center in Tsu City, Japan.  She has completed graduate work in Public Administration with a specialty in International Public Service and Development at Rutgers University.  She received a BA from the University of Notre Dame and studied at the Université Catholique de l’Ouest in Angers, France.  Ms. Pelletreau is fluent in French and English.
